Vehicle Listing Description

Don’t judge this beauty by its exterior! I’ve owned this truck for over 10 years now and absolutely love it. It is solid and reliable. It runs great. Its fun to drive, especially topless. I’ve got well over $22,000 into this truck. Unfortunately, the economy happened and that has left me unemployed so my truck is on the chopping block. It’ll be a great bargain and ton of fun for whoever buys it.

I’ve done lots of work to make it a very nice trail rig, even commuted with it for a while. I installed the 302 H.O. motor (a rebuilt 0.30 over long block) about 5 years ago, and it has about 8,000 miles on it.

I replaced the transmission with a ZF 5 speed from a low mile F250, and installed a hydraulic clutch. Tranny has a 5.72:1 first gear, and a 0.76:1 overdrive. For me, this was the best modification I did since it cruises very nicely at 70 mph.

I also installed a James Duff 3-1/2” long travel suspension with extended radius arms and 10 leaf rear spring packs. Also has dual shocks all the way around. The truck rides very smoothly and tracks great for such a short wheel base.

The truck came with factory power steering. I added power brakes and front discs. I also converted a York A/C compressor for on-board air and a installed a 2 gallon air tank mounted under the truck. I converted the transfer case to twin stick and fabricated a new fiberglass tunnel cover to accommodate it and the new transmission.

I installed an 6-point fully TIG welded roll cage. It is absolutely the best roll cage on the market that I found. Fits like a dream and leaves plenty of room for occupants.

The truck has a BestTop Super Top – black, with removable rear and side windows. Its in excellent condition. I also still have the original white (well, kind of white) hard top. Its in poor condition – stored outside for past 5 years - but its yours if you want it.

The front seats are black leather hi-back bucket seats from a 1995 Mustang GT. They’re incredibly comfortable! And in great shape.

I built a rear seat in a fold and tumble design. It works great, but I never got around to installing seat belts for the rear seat. It is covered in vinyl and I should disclose that I’m not an upholsterer. Regardless, it works.

The tub is all lined with black DuraLiner for easy hose-out cleaning. The liner was installed about 5 years ago and is showing normal wear and a few spots are lifting.

All factory lights (except emergency flashers), gauges, wipers, blinkers, and heater work. The emergency flashers do not work and the water valve on the heater needs to be replaced.

It has a locking Tuffy center console with a Pioneer CD player. I installed basic 6x9 speakers in boxes for sound.

What It Needs:

- The transmission adapter came from Advanced Adapters and was designed for an Atlas transfer case. Therefore, the cross-member interferes with the front driveshaft. (The front driveshaft isn’t on the truck right now, but is included with this sale.) The cross-member must be modified by installing a steel hoop to clear the driveshaft. The front driveshaft will need to be modified as well. A machine shop should be able to do this for not much money.

- The exterior paint is in rough condition. There are a few small pockets of rust outside. The worst is the right front fender area - photo included in listing.

- There is normal surface rust on floors and on the roll cage and bumpers.

- I never fully installed the roll cage or rear seat because I was planning to remove them in order to have the interior sprayed with Rhino Liner.

- The doors are usually stored, not hung on the truck, so the latch mechanisms are a little sticky.

- As you can tell from the photos, the left front fender flare is broken (wayward branch). The front antenna has been broken since I bought it.
